I’ve always wanted to travel to Africa to see the mountain gorillas but never really knew where to start.
I put my trust in Rickus from day one as he always showed integrity and honesty, and was very knowledgeable about the tours available and the environment. Rickus kept in regular contact with me ensuring that I was up to date on the plans and I never had a doubt that my tour would be amazing.
When we headed out to Uganda, it was a little daunting being in such a remote part of the world but everything ran seamlessly and we were able to feel at ease knowing that we were being looked after. The accommodation was clean and tidy and the transport out to the forest was comfortable.
There is no better feeling than to be in the middle of that jungle and have the gorillas only metres away from you where anything could happen at any time. And while you only get to spend an hour with them, I can honestly say it was the best hour of my life and I’d do it all again in a heart beat.
I would return not only for the experience of spending another hour with the gorillas but also by being in such a remote beautiful part of the world. When I booked with Junglers I expected there to be clear communication, safety, knowledgeable guides and a taste of the culture. I got all of that and more. From the day we were transferred from the airport to our hotel in Kampala for the night prior to the trip everything felt organised and the guides seemed very experienced.
Of course it is Africa and there’s a saying I learnt “This is Africa” or TIA as some say and there are times you may need to wait for things or there may be slight changes of plans due to unforseen circumstances but all of our little things were handled with the utmost professionalism and then on top of that the guides and Rickus made it fun for us too.
