The Kruger National Park and surrounding area fall within the Mpumalanga region – offering some of the most breath-taking attractions in Africa. From the naturally sculptured cylindrical rocks at Bourke’s Luck Potholes to the spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, waterfalls, rivers, streams and many more.

Itinerary

Day 1
JHB – GRASKOP
Departing from JOHANNESBURG at 08h00, your journey leads you on some of the most scenic roads down to the Lowveld region of South Africa, known as Mpumalanga. On route you will be stopping for a brunch stop in the historic town of Dullstroom – which is also known as the fly-fishing capital of South Africa. Here you will have some time to walk around and explore the little shops and town atmosphere before setting off.

After your brunch/lunch stop you continue your journey to your accommodation in Graskop.

Upon arrival in Graskop – there will be time to stroll through town or to simply relax at your accommodation next to the pool.

Day 2
PANORAMA ROUTE – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Today you will be exploring the beauty of the infamous Panorama Route, stopping at most of the highlights that gave it its’ name. Some of the highlights today include the third largest canyon in the world, known as the Blyde River Canyon, then you move on to Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Gods Window, and stop for our own expense lunch in Hoedspruit.

The panorama route really offers some of the most unique and captivating scenery in South Africa and we will spend a good amount of time at each stop to make sure we enjoy what we see and get the full experience.

After your latish lunch in Hoedspruit it is time to enter the Kruger National Park via Orpen Gate as you do a game drive on route to your accommodation within the park.

You will spend the next two nights staying inside the Kruger National Park.

Day 3
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
Today is an early morning as you want to explore the Central Section of the Kruger National Park as soon as you can, for our full day of game viewing. The Central section of the park offers the opportunity to see some different species of animals like Rhino, Wild Dogs, Herds of Buffalo and Elephant as well as other predators like Lion and Hyenas because the South usually has a bit more water, naturally attracting more animals. Your day is dedicated for driving around in search of these animals, however you will be able to stop regularly at some of the parks’ rest camps for some leg stretches and comfort breaks as well as some waterholes on route.

The whole day should be planned to arrive at your accommodation in park before the gates close or if you intend to take park in a sunset or night drive with the parks rangers – you will need to make sure to be on time for this. Please check relevant gate opening and closing times as well as departure times for the afternoon sunset and night drives if you wish to join (own expense)

Day 4
KRUGER NATIONAL PARK & CROCODILE RIVER
Today is another early morning as you want to explore the Southern Section of the Kruger National Park as soon as you can, for our full day of game viewing.

The whole today should be planned to exit the park before the gates close as your accommodation tonight will be in the town of Malelane on the banks of the Crocodile River – where you can enjoy a sunsdowner drink watching the animals come for a drink in the late afternoon.

Tonight you will stay outside of the park as you can then have an easy morning and a relaxing start before heading back to Johannesburg.
